USC, delay of game, clipping, and illegal sub., highlight the first OSU possession. McDaid is busy already.

On the same play there was a chop block thrown by the umpire and intentional grounding in the endzone. Both fouls on Clemson. Two points for OSU.

Okay I'm lost here. Clemson was marked short of the line to gain, than OSU #11 clearly hit the ballcarrier out of bounds, drawing a 15-yard flag. Yet OSU somehow has the ball back, McDaid never explained what happened.

@mikepereira 1m RT @#OrangeBowl Hit O/B is a dead ball foul. The line to gain wasn't reached so ball goes to Ohio State and then they are penalized

How come McAulay and Walt Anderson have been allowed in TV booths? Thought NFL officials could not be with the media until the offseason?

How come McAulay and Walt Anderson have been allowed in TV booths? Thought NFL officials could not be with the media until the offseason? I would think it's okay for them to be in the booth in their capacities as conference officiating supervisors. That said, ESPN needs to have a neutral rules expert helping on rules explanations. I understand McAulay doesn't want to be critical of his guys, but he was very uninformative and noncommittal about several plays tonight; especially the weird late hit on 4th down with possession going to OSU as well as the clinching Clemson INT.
