Good luck to all the new hires. I wonder if any of the crew chiefs from 2013 have retired and who may replace them. Will there be any other retirees?

Obviously one of the new umpires is to replace Wally Bell, may he rest in peace. Regarding crew chiefs I thought I recall John Hirschbeck saying that 2013 was his final year. Not to mention with the new replay system some crew chiefs may leave the field to work with that. It also would not surprise me to see the league add another crew

Will it be centralized replay? Do people like West, McClelland, etc., want to relocate and live in NYC for the season?
Will MLB add a crew and each crew spend a week in NYC to be replay umpires and then resume work on the field?
I will be interested to see how all of this plays out.

With enough teams in the Eastern time zone easy traveling distance from NYC it could be worked out that either before or after the replay stint the crew works one of those places and then on the other side has one of their weeks off. In other words, the schedule would be as follows:
End of Week 1 - Series @ stadium in Eastern Time Zone Week 2 - Replay Week 3 - Off
or
Week 1 - Off Week 2 - Replay Start of Week 3 - Series @ stadium in Eastern Time Zone

Miller and Nelson are the new Crew Chiefs. Heard they added 2 more crews as they will need 2 crew in NYC each week for replay.

Solid choices for new Crew Chiefs in Miller and Nelson. Is Brian O'Nora and Mike Everritt in line next?
Based on recent playoff assignments the past several years, I wonder if Vanover will get an opportunity for a full-time crew chief. I believe Angel Hernandez based upon years of experience who have made crew chief by now. Is the league waiting to see if perceptions change. Joe West waited longer than normal before becoming a crew chief and I believe he has strived since.
