What crews did you see? What did you observe?

2nd time that's happened in San Diego, Torbert's crew had it during the Jets-Chargers game in week 5. Anyway, I have a question about intentional grounding. During the Browns-Falcons game, the Browns tried a reverse which Josh Gordon fumbled. After picking the ball up, Gordon threw it away to avoid a 20 yard loss. Gordon looked like he was between the tackles when he threw it but the ball went outside as part of the reverse. Thankfully (as a Browns fan) Brad Allen didn't throw the grounding flag. I was wondering how grounding applied to a play like that.

The Chargers block a Rams field goal. Before the blocked field goal, the Rams were offside. After the Chargers recovered the blocked field goal, they were flagged for an illegal block. In order for the Chargers to keep the ball, they had to decline the foul (if accepted, the penalties would have offset and a replay of the down). The foul for illegal block was accepted and the Chargers kept the ball after the 10-yard penalty. Since the Chargers got the ball with “clean hands” and fouled after recovering the block, they were able to keep the ball. www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/0ap3000000433029/Stuckey-blocks-Rams-field-goal

Triplette has improved his mic work and overall presence this year. He is a far cry from where he was 10 years ago.

He really, at least to me, comes across in much too arrogant a tone like he enjoys calling penalties but I suppose that's simply a matter of personal preference. His voice sort of grates on me.

There is going to be controversy with the Dallas vs NY Giants game. I thought that was a fumble, don't know what Dean Blandino saw.

There is going to be controversy with the Dallas vs NY Giants game. I thought that was a fumble, don't know what Dean Blandino saw. To me, that falls under the classic "call stands". The mass of bodies doesn't make it indisputably clear that Williams fumbled or that the Cowboys clearly recovered. Looked like it, yes. But by the book the call stands ruling is correct.

There's no doubt that Dallas clearly recovered the fumble. I do agree the officials weren't 100% that it was a fumble, due to the massive amounts of bodies surrounding the ball carrier. However, 99.9% should be good enough. The hip was not done.

Romo could have been ejected for contact to Vinovich

Bill Vinovich picking up a late hit flag: "the receiver was still in bounds, and took a flop." Colloquially expressed, but not exactly true. Beckham was out of bounds, though he did a little sell job.
