Cliff's Notes version:
Roxy Bernstein misidentified the position of the official that was reprimanded ("side judge") then revised it to "linesman". He identified the H by name and indicated that official was not officiating the game the rest of the Cal-ND crew was on. He leaped forward in the assessment that it meant the official he called out was suspended.
Athletic determined it was the L that threw the flag and that the H actually worked a game elsewhere.
Bernstein weakly walked back his comments but left the erroneous tweet standing. The misinformation has spread, to quote the article, as the original tweet "sent the sports media aggregation industry into high alert."
