Marginal holding call wipes out a Lions TD. Lions got a TD a few plays later.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff is ruled on the field to have fumbled the ball, which was returned for a Packers touchdown. This is an automatic booth review.
If Goff's hand is coming forward even a little bit with control of the ball, this is an incomplete pass. The replay shows the ball is out of his control before the hand moves forward. The touchdown call stands.

This Lions pass to Matt Laporta falls incomplete. Defender Quay Walker never turned to look for the ball.
This is the first indicator that pass interference could happen. But Walker never made contact with Laporta. He did get his hands up, but there is no "face guarding" pass interference rule in the NFL.
For a moment it looked like there could be pass interference, but it turned out to be good, clean defense.

This one's a burr in my saddle....
Opening Salvo can be a tempest in the kettle
The Cowboys have used the Thanksgiving game as an opportunity to kick off their participation in a Salvation Army fundraiser/promotion with an oversized donation kettle in the end zone.
In the fourth quarter, the Cowboys start piling on the points and getting creative with their touchdown celebrations. It seems that the officiating crew is told to allow celebrations involving the kettle, even though it is used as an illegal prop. Last year, the league fined players for the celebrations that went unpenalized during the game.
In one celebration tonight, the Cowboys pulled out turkey legs -- like, actual food -- out of the kettle and started eating it. This is beyond a celebration involving the kettle and bringing additional props that would make Carrot Top proud.
Unfortunately, this creates a problem. Yes, charity and all, but it gives one team an exception to the rules that no other team has. And in this case, by pre-coordinating to have food come out of the kettle, the Cowboys realize they are immune from a yardage penalty and may become increasingly elaborate in prop-based celebrations.
It's not whether or not this is a harmless act, but in the case of fairness that one team has special dispensation over a rule solely because it involves an owner's pet charity.

2 ejections, both assessed during the commercial. Since they added a penalty for Miami, it offset the first announced foul. The foul against an official is always separated from an offset and was enforced moving the kickoff to the 50.

So, in Cincinnati, the stadium clock had too much turkey this weekend, and with the rain, took a little nap during the second quarter, so time had to be kept on the field by the Side Judge. At which point did this become the SJ doing this? It used to be the Line Judge. I somewhat remember hearing about when this changed, but does anyone out there remember when/why? P.S.: I'm not referring to the stadium clock becoming official in 1970, I mean for these situations, when the backup switched from LJ to SJ.
