Good job by the referee and all of the other officials for holding their whistles. Shame on the head coach of the white team for not telling his player to fall down once the horn sounded.
A similar play happened in Denver about 3 years ago. Team A was ahead by less than a touchdown with 5 seconds left. The quarterback took the snap and ran backward until he heard the buzzer, at which point he dropped the ball. The referee accidentally blew his whistle right as B recovered the ball and ran it in to the endzone. Team A ended up winning the game.
As far as I know, the head coach from the losing team took it in stride and was more upset about the fact that his team was in a position to lose before the play.
And unfortunately, the referee who blew the whistle hasn't officiated a game since the incident.
