It's an incomplete observation, but I give the Riveron crew a B.

Green's crew in Chicago just didn't look into it today. C+ / B- overall. Helverson deserved Cutler's wrath after blowing the DPI, but Cutler deserved the flag too for not letting it go. Argue once to make your point, then get off the field -- keep jawing over your shoulder on the way off -- expect 15 yards.

I hope Pereira is wrong and Johnson and Finnigan both sit at least one game.

If true, Finnegan just bought himself a whole new round of trouble: bit.ly/guk2zpIt's one thing to pre-meditate a fight, but then to broadcast your intentions to the opposition?

No suspension for Finnegan or Andre Johnson. es.pn/hL1tZuI can live with the fact that Johnson didn't get suspended, but they need to do something about Finnegan. This guy obviously isn't getting the message that he needs to clean his game up. I hope Carl Johnson addresses this on Total Access this week. They need to start suspending players that continue to commit acts that incite things like this. It's making a mockery of the game. That's the end of my rant.

It is a league matter not an officiating matter.

Carl Johnson should state nothing regarding suspensions. It is a league matter not an officiating matter. I completely agree. But you know that won't stop Rich Eisen from bringing it up anyway, then pretending he doesn't understand when Carl Johnson it has little to do with on-field officiating. My guess is that it'll be brought up from the ejection standpoint, then ask what criteria for ejections is, raise concern about penalties where there isn't an ejection, then why "why is it a judgement call?" and so on. We'll have to see if he (Rich) tries to pin it on the officials not "keeping a lid on things," especially given the little shoving match earlier and Finnegan being warned in earlier games. OK, maybe I should actually give Rich a chance before I complain about him... Rant over (for now)

NFL reviewing an incident involving the Bucs' Aqib Talib... bit.ly/hmxIVJInteresting. During MLB screaming matches many times the umpires mock a player's ability as a result of the player mocking the umpire's ability. I haven't really heard NFL officials doing that to players. When you're being called a *)@ and are told that you *&@))&@)!&), there is the temptation to hit back. Hmmmmmmmmmm........

I know there was an issue a few years back with HL Phil McKinnely. I am sure the NFL will do their due diligence to find out what took place

raheem is real passionate, i like him a lot. horrible call in my opinion, and i love that in the MLB the umps go at it with the players. I referee soccer and have been known to jaw with players for fun.

I referee soccer and have been known to jaw with players for fun. I disagree. MLB umps going at it with players has no place in the sport, and is immensely unprofessional. No self-respecting official should ever lower him/her self to such behavior, IMO. The NFL should be proud of what it expects from their game officials.
