What crews did you see? What did you think of them?

Watching Morelli's crew in Atlanta. Vernatchi has done very well moving from deep wing to back judge.

I've now flipped over to CBS to watch McAulay's crew officiate.
Young and aspiring white hats need to watch McAulay work....he's one to emulate!

i agree FF7, McAulay is superb. I've got Hochuli Minn@Wash in my area and John Parry Pitt@Buff. Finally get to see two of the better referees this sunday.

McAulay had a horrible overturn of a challenge. The call on the field was a completed pass and a fumble by the Giants. From the replay, it was clear to me the reciever had already secured the ball and was running for more yards when he lost the football. However, McAulay overturned the call of a fumble and called it an incomplete pass. It would lead to a field goal by the Giants.

Triplette crew having a poor game. Triplette stumbled over several calls, including an intentional grounding call. Then either the FJ or SJ threw a flag for illegal touching of a pass on Carolina in which the receiver went OOB, came back in, was the first to touch it. The player caught the ball fell OOB, and maintained control. Carolina challenged, Triplette reversed the penalty, but still called it incomplete.

Critical judgement call for Greg Steed. NYG fielded a fair catch. JAX defender didn't see the signal and held up at the last second and gave the receiver a bump in the thigh. Coughlin had kittens wanting a personal foul; however Steed ruled that the JAX defender made enough of an effort to hold up and ruled the bump not enough for a PF. Gutsy judgement call.

Good OPI by Steinkirchner on the JAX receiver.

Blakeman just ejected Andre Johnson and Courney Finnegan for fighting and throwing punches.
Blakeman has been great on the mic all day long in Houston.

Just saw Titans-Texans highlight. WR and CB rip each other's helmets off and exchange punches that land. Both were launched. Looks like Blakeman's crew.

I was doing chores around the house so I didn't watch closely, but from what I saw, I'd give McAulay's crew a B+.

News report of incident: bit.ly/dPJ6OABoth should sit a game - at least Johnson should sit. That behavior in uncalled for at all levels of football.

That's one of the ugliest incidents I've seen in an NFL game in a while. In Johnson's defense, Finnegan had this coming to him (just like Roethlisberger last week). Still, that doesn't give him an excuse to act like that. Both of them need to sit for a game.
