Time for the NFL crews to make their final push to the post season. There are many great crews but only eight slots open for crew assignments. The top three officials at each position work the CC's and the Super Bowl.
With that in mind, here are my thoughts/predictions as we enter Week 13:
Locks: Corrente Parry Winter Boger Leavy
Right There: McAulay Morelli Hochuli Steratore Anderson Blakeman (with another R) Green Carey
Longshot: Coleman Triplette Riveron Cheffers
While Steratore got the Calvin Johnson replay right in Week 1, the Pittsburgh goal line call might be a big enough judgement call ding to keep them out of the playoffs - although I think if that is the case Steratore will be go with Blakeman's crew or work a CC.
As always, some great officials will be shut out of the playoffs.
What do you think?

I agree with your list, but the only thing I would do is swap Green and Cheffers. I also think that Blakeman's crew is a lock for a postseason assignment, but with a different referee. Here are my picks for the CC's and Super Bowl:
CC#1 R: Winter #14 U: Ellison #81 HL: Veteri #36 LJ: Arthur #108 FJ: Cavaletto #60 SJ: B. Anderson #20 BJ: D. Paganelli #46
CC #2 R: M. Carey #94 U: Michalek #115 HL: Perlman #9 LJ: Arthur #108 FJ: Gautreaux #80 SJ: Weatherford #116 BJ: Reels #83
Super Bowl XLV Crew R: Leavy #127 U: DeFelice #53 HL: Stabile #24 LJ: Boston #18 FJ: Rosenbaum #67 SJ: Patterson #15 BJ: T. Steratore #112

I disagree about Coleman this year- he looks much better with the crew he has...he may make the playoffs- maybe as the replacement R....Boger is still not quite up to par with Steratore or Parry....
Also, I like Winter...but not as good this year...others have been better
Triplette, Green, Cheffers, Riveron are my longshots...

Green we can scratch from the Super Bowl, of course, since he did it last year. I would like to see all these top assignments go to the officials who have been passed over in years past such as Winter. By the time you become an NFL referee, you are a top official. Everybody should have a chance at the big one. It is not any difference in ability; it is the circumstances of some of the games they work as well as some of the calls of crew mates. To blame Steratore for the foul up of his HL is disgusting, frankly. If a guy is competent enough, then the CC's and the SB should rotate as most of these so called ratings are nonsense, everybody knows that. They just give supervisors the chance to play politicds.

If I had my druthers, I'd rather see them return to an All-Star crew for all playoff assignments. At the time, I thought it was a MP over-reaction to the NYG-SF end of game FG mistakes in 2002.
I will say that the crew assignments have worked out OK, and the crew assignments don't kill me, but get back to All-Star assignments. Plus the All-Star assignments make the CC and Super Bowl predictions on this site more of a challenge!

I agree with FF - put the best officials in the playoffs period.

I think Coleman's crew is deserving of a playoff assignment. I happen to like the crew format because, as we have seen, a crew of playoff regulars may lack chemistry together and struggle. There is something to be said for having officials working the playoffs that have 18-20 games together and can read and react to what is going on on the field

With Carl Johnson now at the helm, could he make a change in how the post-season assignments are made? Maybe we're making wrong assumptions as to how crews will be assigned.

My locks are: Steratore, Leavy, Parry, Corrente and McAulay. If Steratore or Parry cant get the SB, then I'd like to see the two of them get the two CCs

MP changed things around a bit and it's possible CJ could do the same. While it's not likely, I wouldn't completely write-off Green for doing a consecutive SB.
