Good footage. Wasn't Seeman the alternate referee for the Super Bowl that year?

Yes, and I'd like some insiders and historians to help me on this. How in the WORLD was Jerry Seeman assigned SB alternate in his FIRST YEAR AS REFEREE? Did he do that well in his first year, score #1 but couldn't do it because he was a rookie R? Was he a McNally favorite? I must say; however, that Seeman was a referee for nine years before he was assigned Super Bowl 23 and got Super Bowl 25 before he took over as supervisor. I'd think if he were a teacher's pet he'd have gotten the SB sooner. Anyone have any inside dope on Super Bowl 14???
