Plus a young Bill Bellechik! R120 Lane U44 Rice HL121 Rivers LJ38 Mauer BJ11 Carroll SJ28 Wedge FJ73 Skelton Good signals from Lane! He went from SJ to R, back to SJ. I don't really know why they moved Lane back. His first or second year back at SJ he went to the Super Bowl. Later on, he failed a physical and had to leave the league, then a few years later died from a heart attack at the too-young age of 60. Enjoy! bit.ly/f7pBde

I miss how TV used to go to the referee for a second or two after a good FG or PAT.

I miss how TV used to go to the referee for a second or two after a good FG or PAT. And even for a missed FG. Fred Silva would always take a crow hop to the side, sweeeeeeep both arms to the side, then make the no good signal. I loved Markbreit's good signal. Arms up, cheeks puffed, bringing his fists down like he's doing a chin-up, bang shooting the arms out to the side, and point to the TV liaison to kick it to a commercial. No doubt, that FG or try was GOOD and time was OUT!

The best signal was Hagerty's--two or three stops on the way up to good. But even more interesting were all of Schacter's signals--very hurky-jerky, and before 1973 with the pass interference made to one side--and Bud Brubaker's, who sometimes signalled in the direction in which he was marking off the foul (yes, Virginia, in those before-times, the referee marked off the penalties).
