Is it me or has there been a dramatic drop in the number of horse collar fouls called this year?

I haven't seen very many called either. At the same time, I haven't seen many tackles that would be "defined" as horse collars.

The league made that action illegal and the players adjusted their games. I hope that same thing happens with helmet to helmet hits.

If they took away the face masks, what would happen???....back to the old days, I'd bet the guys would be more careful of using the helmet, especially when their pretty little faces would get banged up permanently.

That's not going to happen. They won't go backwards and reduce safety devices. And although it may discourage helmet-leading hits, it won't take into account accidents, like someone getting hit in the face (like Marsha Brady), or go face-first into the ground or a bench, or get in the way of a kicker or punter.
