Coleman's crew gets an "A" from me today. I didn't see the game, so I can't comment. I was, however, en route from St. Louis back to Chicago and thanks to satellite radio was able to pick up the Chicago radio crew's call of the game. Based on some of their comments, Coleman wasn't qualified for the restroom-servicing crew...

In the Arizona/Dallas game there was a play on which a flag was thrown hitting QB McGee of Dallas in the face. The flag went through is face mask. Fortunately McGee wasn't hurt. It reminded me of the incident several years ago involving Orlando Brown since that also involved Triplettes crew Was it Triplette again? If so, he never seems to learn from his mistakes...just drop the flAg, you don't have to fling it at anybody.

Ok... why are people not Bashing -----> WALT ANDERSON for Bad calls in Giants VS Packers Everyone tends to stomp all over Ed Hochuli.... Mike Pereira's take:THE PLAY: Green Bay running back John Kuhn carried the ball 8 yards for a touchdown. MY TAKE: I hate to see this happen, but this was not a touchdown. Kuhn's left knee was down before the ball broke the plane. This was the first play after the two-minute warning so it was up to the replay assistant to stop the game. The FOX crew covering the game showed two replays before the extra point was attempted. It was clear that the play should have been stopped and reviewed. Even though it would have been a first-and-goal for the Packers from the 1-yard line, you never know what can happen. THE PLAY: New York quarterback Eli Manning's pass intended for Derek Hagen was intercepted by Sam Shields at the New York 46-yard line. MY TAKE: This was another play in this game that was incorrectly ruled and not challenged; the replay showed that Shields' second foot was clearly out of bounds. The reason this play wasn't challenged is because the Giants were out of challenges due to the fact they already had challenged twice, winning one and losing one.

I agree with you Becky, Anderson's crew did not have a good game Yesterday. Besides those two plays which I thught were terrible calls made by Officials who were right ther, They also got the Nicks fumble incorrect on the field and that was a very obvious call.

Ed's mistakes have been more "in the spotlight" types of errors that were game-changing.
It's a double-edged sword -- becuase he's so good and thorough, his performance (good or bad) is magnified inside of the glass house in which he lives on Sunday afternoons (or Thur/Sun/Mon evenings.)
Yesterday's GB / NYG game was also a late-Sunday game shown only to regional audiences, not a national one such as Ed has tonight.

Anderson, in my opinion, was on the border anyway of the playoff crews because of how strong others have been and the fact that he has done it for so many years running that if there is not much of a difference between him and a crew that is not a regular the other crew may get it (see Terry McAulay last year and Ed Hochuli a few years back when Bill Vinovich first worked a playoff game as a Referee)

Thank goodness it wasn't Triplette. All he needs is more people rehashing a freak accident that happened eleven years ago. I think that was the only injury ever caused by a thrown flag during a game, and if so, I think one injury every fifty-one years is a pretty good safety record. Let's face it, it is a one-in-a-million shot. Thankfully, Orlando Brown did recover and eventually returned to the field, and thankfully again, there were no injuries this time.
