12/13/11 Chat: on-msn.com/uYoqkQFrom today: Comment From Corey B. Are there more personal foul penalties this year or does it seem that way? same question in reference to fines and suspensions.
I think there are more fouls being called because the officials are being told to call them if they have any doubt at all. We will continue to see this. I don't sense a rise in fiines and suspensions.

Pereira on officials' scrutiny:
Comment From Pam, New Orleans What happens to officials who consistently make bad calls? I know their performance is reviewed because it has been stressed on broadcasts. Having "Quality control" overseeing your every move has to be a little nerve-wracking. All in all I think the officials do a great job (even when the calls go against my team).
It is nerve racking but you have to be able to handle that. If your performance does not reach an acceptable standard for two years in a row, you could get fired.
