Hochuli's crew on the call. I'll be officiating a JV game tonight and will get home in for the second half. What do/did you think of the crew?

Hochuli needs to learn that he doesn't need to give a 100-word explanation with every penalty. There's nothing wrong with saying "False start, offense number 67. Five yard penalty, repeat first down."
Some people like his explanations, but I'm not one of them.

I like them because they are good to know what is going on. Such as the fumble in the first quarter.

I used to think that the wordy descriptions can be too much. Then, I see what Mike Pereira has to answer on his Twitter feed, and I realize that not everyone is as up to speed on the rules as we are.
Then again, it's just an instance of the lawyer making his case clear.

Well at least there is no confusion after he is done.

Not sure if I agree with the personal foul that was called on DAL #20. He led with his shoulder and din't contact the receiver's head.

Hochuli's crew gets a 3.5. A good performance, but far from perfect.

I think more a 3.0, not that impressive a performance. Remember Hoc is an attorney, and they have the perpensity for verbosity! thus the drawn out explaination by that little runt on each call. I never realized he is so short. He looks to be 5'-9 or so. What is it, most referees are sawed off runts. do they have a little big man ego complex? The wings and U are usually all taller than the R....just my observation, have some fun with it.

When it comes to explanations, I'd rather have too much than not enough. I remember Bernie Kukar getting ripped by Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, and Paul Maguire years ago over a call he got right. If he had taken another couple of seconds to explain the rule, that likely wouldn't have happened.

You're biased with myopic vision. Look at the overall performance within what the official would see. Hoc looked like a midget in that pile of redwoods on the field last night.

Hmmmmmmm Well if you were 6ft 3/4 and everyone else is like 6ft 3 inches and TALLER..... yes you would LOOK SHORTER than everyone else...... #JustSayin!

I believe this forum is supposed to be about the performance of the officials. Can we please do away with the unnecessary and uncalled for remarks. Thanks.
