Carey rates a 2.5 at best. Detroit has problems every time Carey works their game. Of course, they had the Monday Night syndrome...68% of the teams that played on Monday Night, lose the following Sunday. I was suprised at this number when the subject was Googled and this number showed up. The coaches confrontation is a media field day, and they're going to milk this for all its worth too.

I do not mean any disrespect to Carey and crew, but this has been a very choppy and poorly officiated gamein Detroit. This crew is flag happy and the flow of the game has almost stalled. I like Mike Carey but cmon man!!!!

I'll add one more play that was questionable and was the difference in Detroit or SF winning or losing. I thought the replay review of SF TD in last 2 minutes of game showed Walker with knee down and ball just shy of goal line. I would've reversed it. On the subject of coaches, I think making sure the coaches are diplomatic and representative of the NFL is beyond role and scope of the officials. Carey and crew are not to blame for Harbaugh and Schwartz's actions.

I'll say this. Carey has not had a great season. He was horrible in the Jet-Ravens game when he missed a running into/roughing the Kicker although n ot a big deal as it would have led to offsetting penalties and not given the Jets back the ball......and he missed on the empty hand/incomplete pass play the blatant illegal hit by the Baltimore defender leading with his helmet for which the Baltimore player was fined 15G. His primary job, of course, is to protect the qb and there is little mitigating circumstances for calls like that....now watch, he'll get the NFL Championship game.

I'm sure it won't change your mind, but he disagrees with you on both plays you are complaining about in this thread.

Hochuli wearing short sleeves in GB with a 50 degree wind chill. Once again a man with a lot of guts.
