We kick off part V with Bob Davidson launching Tyler Colvin and Mike Quade over a called third strike. Pitch looked pretty good - too close to take. mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=17625937I don't think Bob Brenly likes Bob! EDITED FOR CORRECT LINK

Not an ejection, but an observation: Been watching the Yankee/White Sox debacle,( 18-7 and it is nice to see that Brian Runge keeps alive the fine family tradition of having a HUGE strike zone ;D

Yet another example of idiotic announcers. Just because a player or manage walks away doesn't mean he's automatically exonerated. We don't know what was said when Colvin and Quade turned their backs, but it must have been something that warranted an ejection.

Brian started out on the knee, went to the box stance, and this season is back to the knee.

Ed was the best of his time....he told the players he was an umpire with a large strike zone and carried through. And he rarely got an argment. And the players went up there, and hacked and the games moved along. Really wish there were more umpires like him today but what with, as we said in the other thread, the questrak or whatever system they're using, and the boxes and the hd and all the other junk, I wonder if he could get away with that today.
But boy his games moved along.

True enough but then again it's Bob Dadvidson and over the years, I've heard plenty of announcers get on him for the way he has tried, or so it seems, trailblaze the game the way he wants and alathough he has toned down his act a tad, his reputation does precede him, unfortunately and those who have watched baseball for a while have seen how putried his umpiring has been.

And I bet Ozzie tried very hard to get kicked out of that game, but Hudson probably told him that had to stick around, watch the rest of the game and suffer. And guaranteed Bruney said something to the effect of: "NO F****** WAY!!" Gardner somehow went 3/5 last night without hitting the ball out of the infield!

You should get ejected anytime you say that.

If I'm Drake and they reduce Molina's suspension on appeal, I'd blow a gasket. He deserves every one of those five games and should be grateful it wasn't twice that.

It should be at least (10) games....they went light because of the Cards? LaRussa have some pull? Weaver got (6) for his antics, and he didn't come near Hunter, where's the consistency....oh wait we're talking Selig here. While I'm at it, I personally now is the time to launch Bob Davidson into aother galaxy, the twin toss the other night was ridiculous..
