I am no expert in hockey, although I enjoy the sport, but it seems like these changes would really funkify the sport.

I promised to win an over or under (I took zero) not to press the point here any longer. However, you want to know what a couple of experts think about this idiotic system. Read Ron Wicks' book (Wicksie was an NHL official for a quarter of a century) and read an article Red Fisher, one of hockey's most respected newspaper writers, wrote last October. The system sucks. PERIOD.

I'm surprised they're toying with the idea of bringing the two-line pass rule back. I always hated that rule - it really slows the game down and discourages the types of passes that have the potential to be more exciting.

Don't worry, it's not going to happen but there are those who feel that one of the reasons for the escalation in the number of injuries is the ability of players to garner speed without the restrictions imposed by prohibiting off side passes across the centre line. After all, force = mass x aceeleration. Sometimes simple seeming rule changes have unintended consequences.
