www.nhlofficials.com/display_news.asp?articleID=533Referees - Joannette (25), Lee (28) and Pollock (33) all out (same as last year). The big story is Paul Devorski (10) is out. In are Furlatt (27) (returns to the Conference Finals) and Steve Kozari (40) who now makes THIS level for the first time in only his third full-time year. (The retired McCreary is the other spot being replaced.) Linesmen: Barton (59), Driscoll (68), Lazarowich (86) (same as last year), Amell (75) and Murphy (93) are all out. In are Kovachik (71) and Murray (95) - both first times in the CF.

Paul Devorski (10) has even making the CF is quite a surprise. I thought with McCreary retiring this would be the year Kevin Pollock (33) would finally get over the hump and make the finals Linesmen still have several veteran names even with Amell (75) and Murphy (93) out. It will be tough to make the finals. Linesmen became much more competitive several years ago when Heyer (55) Sharrers (57) and Murphy (93) came back to linesmen after trying their hand at refereeing in the AHL.

Anyone have any hindsight on Devorski out.....Pollack rose the ranks quickly and has not been able to get to the Finals....Joanette has been to the Finals.
With Walkom back on ice that eliminates a Finals position. Congratulations to Steve Kozari....

Kozari must have had an unbelievable year. For a guy that young to go this far in the playoffs is quite an accomplishment. The brass must really like him, to be able to beat out proven veterans in an assigning system that is very much subjective based.
