I haven't followed Final Four assignments, but are officials ever assigned to both a semi-final and the national championship game?

I would assume not since the finals consist of the same teams from the semis and I doubt they want the same official working 2 straight games of a certain team.

I haven't followed Final Four assignments, but are officials ever assigned to both a semi-final and the national championship game? I believe they used to, but not now. Officials only work one game in the final four. The 10th official is the alternate for all games. They also used to have a third place game before championship game too.

As I understand it, the reason for officials only doing one game at the Final Four was so they wouldn't have to deal with the pressure of competing for a spot in the championship game. I believe this started in 1986.

I have seen a few timing issues in the tournament. Does anyone know why the NCAA does not have the refs use the belt-packs?
