On the flip side, it has to sting for Dave Cutaia. If I read it right, Cutaia was terminated.

This is a great move for the Pac-10. Larry Scott appears to be a very forward thinking commissioner. The criticism of the officiating had to sting. MP brings instant credibility to the officiating program. Also look for him to be back at Fox as his insight there was very well received.

On the flip side, it has to sting for Dave Cutaia. If I read it right, Cutaia was terminated. Cutaia took this job to hold it over for MP for those who did not know. It is believed MP will continue his role with FOX. Cutaia is and has been eager to return to the field.

On the flip side, it has to sting for Dave Cutaia. If I read it right, Cutaia was terminated. Cutaia famously was the replay official in the Oklahoma-Oregon officiating gaff from 2006 when the officials incorrectly ruled Oregon legally recovered an onside kick and several other plays.

Incorrect...he was the referee on the game. He went from field to supervisor position.
