This is brutal - some of the flags may be over the top, but, blame both teams also for turning this into a circus... This.

The number of penalties is the players fault Never the officials. In this case, there were some phantom calls, and way to many calls that judgement should dictate, not call

A shaky 2.5....the dq's were justified and I know the cliches are out there (they don't commit the fouls, they just call them) but as others have said a couple of very weak major penalties and not really conducive to the enjoyment of the game.

McCaulay's crew gets a 1.9 from me. This was not a well-officiated game and they really bogged the game down. The DQs were good calls but there were WAY to many ticky-tack calls.

I wonder if the league said something to the crews.

Looks like some iffy judgement calls today, which is surprising from a McAulay crew. The ejections were justified and needed to exact justice on the field and keep the game from becoming a brawl.
But those good things are wiped out by some "huh?" calls.

Pete Morelli isn't my most favorite referee (just personal preference - he's a very good official) but he has a REALLY strong crew and has other members of that crew that I really enjoy watching (Vernatchi, Fowler, Baltz, and Carlson). And, Morelli over the years has grown on me.
This is a very good crew.

Suh explains his ejection - says it wasn't deserved. I disagree. bit.ly/sf1Ajm

Looked to me on replay, they had hold of his leg, and he was trying to pull away and maintain balance when he stepped on the GB players arm.....

Ummmm.... no JJ, this idiot kicked deliberately and was appropriately punished. He would be well-served to just post-date a bunch of checks and leave them on file with the commissioner's office, since he clearly doesn't get it and will continue to have problems as long as he disrespects the game, his fellow players, his coaches and leauge officials.

Morelli's crew had a good game today. I really like this crew and wouldn't be surprised to see them assigned a divisional round together (if some of them don't get a CC or SB).
A solid 3.6 today for this crew.
I'm off to bed early tonight and don't get NFLN so I won't be able to post observations about tonight's game.

Suh slammed the guys head 3 times before he stomped on him. How can he blame someone else for that. While you can't blame blame McAulay and crew for the penalties they called, they missed many and allowed the tempo and style of the fame to be what it was. On first couple of drives I saw Vanden Bosch walk past a player just tackled and kick him. On the play where Det RB Smith left, his helmet was ripped off and the GB Player did a Tony Sirugusa and put his entire body weight on him a's he pretended to get up. PI calls were missed, holding calls missed, face masks and hand to the face were missed. You can't just blame the players here. Unacceptable in every way
