From 1969. Michigan vs. Ohio State bit.ly/sTJRasA few things I noticed: Do you see the white rags in the officials pockets? That's the penalty flag! Football officials used white penalty flags for many years (some years with a red checked pattern in a corner). The NFL went to yellow penalty flags in the mid 60s so they could show up on TV better. The NCAA followed suit a few years later. I can't get over the obsession of covering the ball and the spot. Markbreit and the U just crash the spot and hover over it like a mother bird protects the eggs in the nest. Acceptable mechanics of that time, but not today! Enjoy the footage!
