McAulay is Corrente's alternate. Either McAulay has the SB or he got shut out of an onfield assignment. It is rather rare to have a white hat as an alternate in the wild card rounds. I think Corrente's health played a factor in that..... Rare, but not unprecedented... Hochuli was a W/C alternate a few years ago, but didn't have an on-field assignment that year. >>>>> Hochuli as W/C Alternate for Bill Vinovich for 2006 season but played Jan 7, 2007... Jets VS Patriots............... Is this correct

Bryan may still be in the cc. Can't. You have to have 5 years experience, and he has 3. I think this is Cheffers' 2nd playoff assignment as a referee. I'm pretty sure he had a divisional game a couple of years ago. Correct. Divisional game in 2009, his first year of eligibility as crew chief. I find it striking that all four crews did not qualify for the postseason last year, except that Winter was a CC alternate and Corrente was at the Pro Bowl.

I wouldn't doubt that Corrente's health may have had something to do with it, but I thought there was usually an alternate referee somewhere in the first two rounds of the playoffs. As for McAulay, I think that's the only position he gets this year, like Kukar in his final year and Hochuli a few years back.

It looks like Jimmy Buchanan is either still a rookie since he only worked 1 game before this year, or rated low. Fred Bryan must be injured since he missed last week. It's odd that Buchanan is listed as in his "3rd year" according to the official officials roster in the NFL Record and Fact Book.Bryan worked last week, according to the gamebook. However, I would defer to eyeballs than the gamebook for accuracy.

It was definetely FJ Terry Brown working as the umpire in Atlanta last week while Stritesky worked with Corrente's crew in Cincinnati. I remember it looking weird seeing a FJ in the backfield.
