I watch the NFL because of the amazing athletes.
But there is still an aura of No Fun League.
I mean, displaying a message that says "Happy New Year" is a foul? Really?

If the NFL season was in May, and a player wrote on his t-shirt, "HI MOM, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY", would an NFL official flag that? I wonder...

Even crazier is the fact that the two SD Charger players who high fived the HL and LJ as they raised their arms to indicate touchdown during the Balt/SD game a couple weeks ago weren't flagged by the same refs nor fined by the league. It was premeditated and included contact with officials. Explain that to Buffalo. There is so much inconsistency in Unsportsmanlike Conduct and Taunting calls, particularly with regard to end zone celebration. During Oakland/Detroit game, Aaron Curry intercepted a pass for a TD and punched the padding on the goalposts ala Ken Norton of the 49ers. 15 yard penalty which helped Detroit as we now know. Yet on MNFand ThNF both the Saints and the Colts celebrated in large groups and both were allowed a large amount of time to do so. Whatever happened to the 25 second clock used for the extra point and other situations? I understand giving Brees a little more time after the extra point but you can't allow one team to take excessive celebration to ridculous levels but penalize other teams for minor transgressions, if that. Every crew should call these the same. There is no excuse as to why they don't.

The No Fun League and the royal dictator Goodell make no sense in anything they do, and I think the rules committee is a farce also. Watching the NFL is like watching Vince MacMahon's WWE, which I despise and is a total waste of time. After watching some of the NFL special on the NFL network, take the game in the 60-80's era and compare it to now, the game has become sissified. Where are the Schmidts,Tarkentons, Butkuses, Montanas, Blandas and players like that? This is truly the No Fun League. Get out the tutu's and ballerina slippers
