The NFL is going to start alienating it's fanbase pretty quickly if officials continue to call everything that resembles "dirty" play that the league is trying to crack down on. The play above is not a foul, and neither is the play during the Saturday night game with the contact to the helmet by a DB to a WR trying to defend a pass. There needs to be some common sense applied to what is a malicious and violent act. This is something that has bugged me all year, and it's starting to really buzzkill my interest in NFL games.

I'd give this crew a 2.0. The rules as the NFL have set down any more are as big a joke as Goodell. Let the guys play ball, I think more guys get hurt trying to hold up and subconciously thinking "Am I going to get dinged on the field and in my wallet for this? After watching the NFL network specials about some games in the 60's and 70's, I think the league is turning into a sissy league. And don't feed me the line of garbage that they're bigger and stronger now. Goodell has to go along with inane bunch of henchmen he has running the league. But as an aside ask yourself this,"How much of this is media driven?"

The tackle in the above play happens several times in every game. I didn't see it happen but after looking at the tape I have to wonder why the penalty was called.
