The little fact-about-the-referee from FOX today says this is Cheffers 11th assignment in 12 years in the NFL. You can't have more than one a year correct (apart from the old MP WC/Div ref working the SB right?) --- does this mean he has worked or been an ALT every season apart from his rookie season?

Troy Aikman was not a fan of the holding call on #66 of the NYG. I have not seen a replay yet.

Good call by Cheffers. Manning's knee was down with possesion prior to ATL ripping it out.

The fox guys and Jon Gruden don't know what they are talking about.

Good grounding call on Eli. The ball did not get back to the LOS.

Good grounding call on Eli. The ball did not get back to the LOS. Was a GREAT call. If anyone is familiar with Jeff Borzello, a college hoops guy, and NYG fan, this was his tweet re:safety: So no one calls intentional grounding, then they get together and suddenly it's clear? OK.I replied to him and set him straight. Clearly he doesn't know that IG is never called immediately until the R, U, HL and LJ get together to conference about tackle box etc etc

Three tight, tight, short-yardage spots that have been nailed by Phil McKinnely and Tom Symonette. Video of the Falcons loss on downs: bit.ly/xMX2s0(Also, spotting those punts at the sidelines were not easy for Laird Hayes. At least three of them, too.)

Terrible spot on the 2nd down completed pass and not good teamwork by crew to handle that specific situation. It was clearly a 1st down. Yes, Manning should have taken a few seconds to let it settle and have officials check it but what an extreme change of events, especially if Atlanta scores

I agree with Tucker, awful spot. Then on next drive they give Atlanta a 9.5 yard first down

I thought the pass was CLEARLY caught beyond the line to gain, and there should have been a measurement and/or review to verify the spot. This might have cost the Giants points...

Yes, Manning should have taken a few seconds to let it settle and have officials check it but what an extreme change of events, especially if Atlanta scores I put the blame on the refs, not Manning... the Giants were in 2-minute drill and didn't have time to think about whether the refs were doing their job or not. Terrible spot, and even with the bad spot it still looked like a first down. Wonder if the Giants could have requested a measurement after the 3rd down incompletion? I've seen so many plays this year where the ref signals first down without measuring... this looked like the complete opposite. -Brad

Simply put: The crew had a meltdown right there. Inexcusable in that situation.

Here is what he had to say about that spot on twitter, "Talking about the spots, the one on the Hicks catch should have been a first down. The replay officials should have initiated a review."
