Anyone else think that was a weak fair catch signal that was given prior to the kick catching interference penalty? I was watching with my U and BJ from my crew, and we all thought that was a bad signal by the returner... Oh, yes. I forgot about that one. Yes, I would not have quarreled if there was an invalid fair catch signal called. Maybe the only iffy call of the night, but it did not factor into the outcome.

I was at the game. Crew worked really well! They did not have anything to make them work very much. LSU offensive line stunk up the joint! Defense could not keep fighting in those holes that were dug for them. On that KCI I heard Novak announce it as a PF UNR not as a KCI. But with the stadium PA talking over the R as is normal I could be wrong. I thought maybe it was an invalid signal and that he B seemed to think the receiver was possibly driven into the ground. And that's why Novak announced it the way I thought I heard it.

even if there is no fair catch you still have to have the opportunity to catch the ball

From the article... It would be interesting to hear how Novak balances having a son playing QB at a high level as a high school junior with his travel for the Big XII.
