I have seen many websites that state Scott Novak will be the referee. Can anyone confirm this? One of the sites is the wikipedia page set up for the game, and you cannot always trust wikipedia.

Congratulations to the seven guys working Tonight's game. It is a great honor indeed. Just a quick note that the three guys from Walker's crew are technically in Reggie Smith's crew. Walker dissapeared after week 6 and the other 6 guys on his crew were led by Reggie Smith for the remainder of the year. I have been wondering for awhile now what happened to Walker. He must have gotten hurt.

This is Oliver and Semko's second National Championship, they also worked the 2007 contest between LSU and Ohio State the last time the Big 12 worked the title game.

Any reason why Scott Novak got EVERY big game in the Big 12 while Castleberry, Walker, and Christal were demoted to the B-level games in the conference?

Cuz Novak is the Brad Allen, the Lemonnier, the Jay Stricherz of the Big 12. He's easily the best they have to offer. Great spot of the 4th down fake fg btw

Think Van Vark worked most of the end of the year with Novak

Do they ever call holding or PF's in the BCS game. I've seen 3 or 4 late hits and holds

So far so good for Novak's crew. They could have called a few personal fouls, but the seem to be letting the two teams play.
Game has been a bore so far.

Quiet game from this crew for the most part, which is good for a championship game. I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed watching these two defenses work in this game and found it entertaining.

The hitting was frightening at time out there. There were a few hits at the echo of the whistle, but all in all the crew worked hard to keep a lid on things without having to toss flags.
The S got his feet tangled up and fell down chasing a big gainer early in the game, and I'm sure the crew had some fun with him after the game.
There were many NFL caliber officials on that crew.

Anyone else think that was a weak fair catch signal that was given prior to the kick catching interference penalty? I was watching with my U and BJ from my crew, and we all thought that was a bad signal by the returner...
