I think I could listen to Jerry Markbreit speak about any topic. I love how he describes accounts and tells stories. I agree. I could sit and listen to him talk about how to bake cookies and it would be intriguing.

You have to wonder if somewhere on a play like that if the officials allow themselves to even think slightly "...my call will send one team to the Super Bowl." You can't. If you do, you'll freeze and lose concentration. Yes, I'm sure he thought, "Be ready for ANYTHING" before the ball was snapped. On a play like that, you just have to let your instincts take over. I bet afterward he had a good case of the shakes. Remember Greg Gautreaux's call in Super Bowl 43? He made the call and Pereira reported that after the game in the locker room, Gautreaux was crying as an emotional release after the history making call. But in the moment he was rock solid. Could be the greatest call in Super Bowl history?

I can't think of one single call that was better than that one in a Super Bowl.

I can't think of one single call that was better than that one in a Super Bowl. Mike Carey not blowing the play from Manning to Tyree dead for "in the grasp" in Super Bowl XLII also deserves mention

this really was a great video. while I remember nearly none of those plays and only ever saw Carollo and Hochuli on the field, it was fun to watch. I expect this could be redone in 20 years or so, and todays generation of elite would be fun to listen too. Mike Carey definitely has a top play I'd say.

do the LJ's still use a gun at the 2m warning? feel like thats kind of rudimentary. It was gone sometime between 1989-91. It was a holdover relic from when official time was kept on the field.
