Fred.....you brought up the subject but...
Coleman blew the call when he ruled it a fumble. He was saved by the fact they were in the last two minutes of the 4th quarter and the replay official told him as he went under the hood to remember the tuck rule (certainly dicier than telling Texans to remember the Alamo).....now if the play had occurred one player earlier before the 2 minute warning with New England being out of time outs, Coleman might be a hero today in Oakland and banned in Boston...(or do you think somehow the NFL would have gotten word to him to remember the tuck rule!)

Actually CJ, the snap one play earlier occurred @ 1:59, so there would have been a booth review then also.
Watching this video also reminds me how inept most TV color guys are at interpreting rules. We saw it yesterday from Daryl Johnston and Phil Simms, and this video is also Simms. They're so damn coc*-sure of themselves, open their mouths, and then when they're wrong they spend just as much time covering their ass to rationalize their stupidity.
Wonder what today's games will bring in this regard? ;D

Wonder what today's games will bring in this regard? ;D Thank you but it really doesn't change the point (said and thought graciously by me).....I will always wonder what would hae happened if that play had taken place on the other side of the 2 minute warning and then after the game, with no replay held, the NFL coming down on Coleman for blowing so "obvious" a call and as I said Coleman would have been banned in Boston (or Foxboro) for life or somehow word would have been relayed to him. In any event, it might also have changed this idiotic challenge system and the way replays are carried out where a referee is asked to change his call or a colleague and given us a more workable replay system that makes some sort of sense!
