Second trips for Parry and Steratore. THIRD trips for Paganelli, and Hayes, which, is this era of officiating assignments, is quite an accomplishment.
Parry is the eighth referee to do a Super Bowl having officiated a Super Bowl at another position.
Sentimental or personal preferences had me hoping for some different assignments, but I cannot quarrel with this selection at all.

After the weekend, I was starting to believe it was going to be Parry's assignment, so congrats to him. Much deserving along with the rest of the crew.

And, thank you to all the insiders who post this information. Nice to know it before the Thursday before the Super Bowl!

The SB will be in good hands with Parry.
I also like TS a lot. I did my first assignment as BJ (FJ in Canada) this past year, and it's a great position to work!

I knew that Parry had the potential to be a great referee when he broke into the position a few years back. While I think his assignment might be a tad premature, it's hard to argue with the fact that he was the best referee in the league this year.
I'm a little disappointed that guys like Winter, Morelli and Coleman are still waiting for a crack at the big game.

I also feel for guys like Baltz and Carlsen who have put in many years without the Big One.

Baltz, Carlsen and WColeman all came in together in 1989 and none of them have gotten the big assignment. I heard Stabile had NO downgrades this year. I heard Carlsen was almost perfect too, which means that Laird Hayes must of had NO downgrades either?

Imagine getting one ding the whole year and being aced out by someone with no dings. If I had one ding and someone else goes with two dings, I'd be calling New York. Congratulations to all the officials who ranked in the top three.

Commenting just on the on-field assignments, awful hard to disagree with any of them. Well-deserved, and good luck gentlemen !

I can honestly say I've had a solid rooting interest in the Super Bowl about three times in the 33 years of watching the game. That's why you should become a fan of the officials. My team always wins!

The CURSE continues for the team with a playoff game lead by the SB referee...now it's the Niners with Parry...very strange trend...
