Good no call. If there should have been a flag for anything, it could have been an invalid fair catch signal. The Auburn guy did his best to get out of the way.
I'm a back judge in HS. If I had heard Muschamp tell me to get my head out of my posterior on a high school field, my flag would have brought rain. There is no place for profanity directed at officials in NFHS and a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct is expected at that level. As far as the entire temper tantrum, if it was a high school game, Muschamp would get an early shower for all of the profanities.
It takes a special person to be a NCAA or NFL official. What is our first thought when someone accosts us like that? Chest-up to them and match them scream for scream. It takes years of training, experience, and mental toughness to let it go and maintain control of the situation without going scorched earth.
Kudos for this crew in regards to the initial call and in regards to handling this child-like temper tantrum.
