The one thing he said at the end I agree with the most. Personally, I don't see the need for another official. Just will clutter up the field further and if every so often some ticky tack foul is supposedly missed, so be it. Better not to call some marginal play than to call things that shouldn't be called. The idea should always be as much as possible to let the players decide the game. But anyway, at the end he says what I've been saying for years. It is absurdly time consuming and looks almost farcical for the referee to go under the hood, especially on a replay where the outcome is obvious. Often we watch a game on NBC asnd as soon as they show a replay, Al NMichaels who is the best at it and probably understands the rules and officiating mechanics better than almost all other commentators, nails it. Within 30 seconds on many replay situations, we can see the play will be reversed or upheld. We don't need the referee running over to the coach when the red flag is thrown (idiotic to begin with), talk to the coach, announce the call on the field, run over to the machine, hook himself up and then come back slowly to announce the decision. Total waste of time. While there will be some very very close calls that might take a moment or two (and ultimately there is no reason the replay official cannot cfommunicate with the league office just like they do in the NHL), it's a far better system. And personally I feel that sometimes these decisions are so so close and really not clear that if a referee overturns a colleague's call, that might lead to some hurt feelings. Far better for the replay official to do it.
And finally, challenges should not be necessary on any call that could result in a score one way or the other. It is ludicrous to have a rule that every play that is ruled a score is automatically reviewed while a team might have to use a challenge when a play is not ruled a score and it turns out it is.

Think replay will be a big part of the negotiations for the new contract.
Take it off the field and run it like the ncaa. Will save tons of time. Plus we are going to have a ton of retirements over the next few years. Replay will allow many of the older on field officials to get off the field earlier while still making the same $ (ie the new negotiations)
I dont see how the full time will work with the union. does not seem possible.
