Referee Karl Hess just had former NC State stars Chris Corchiani and Tom Gugliotta ejected form their seats at the RBC Center near the end of the NC State-Florida State game. Not surprised at Corchiani but am a little surprised that Gugliotta would pop off to the point of getting tossed.

Karl Hess is the Joe Crawford of College Basketball. A really good Official who can become a hothead at times and lets you know he's in charge.

Karl loves being seen, just like TV Teddy Valentine. He's a superb official and I (usually) love seeing him on my Hokies games. Of course he had the right to toss these guys, I just think it was silly. I'm tempted to heckle him to the point of trying to get tossed by him next time he is in Cassell Coliseum. Just for fun.

He didn't follow the proper procedure. Big flip. Nowhere did they say that he was wrong in ejecting the two. They simply said he should have had game management do it instead of security.
BTW, the ACC also said the two had been previously warned by a security guard at the end of the FSU bench that if they continued to walk up behind the scorer's table and demonstrate regarding calls, they would be ejected.
