I still say that if some overweight lineman is carrying himself off the field as fast as his stubby legs can carry him and he his outside the numbers when the ball is snapped and makes no attempt to do anything except get off the field, no flag. Its not a safety issue (unless he bowls over one of his own team on the sideline because he cannot stop himself) and there is no advantage gained.

timdaye I do not agree with no flag because it is still a penalty but I think you can make it so that the time being added back to the clock only occurs if the Defensive player is either (1) not attempting to get off the field at the snap or (2) has an effect even de minimis on the play and that includes happening to be where a receiver is running even if not intentional
