18 officials selected + 2 not working games but named as alternates.
2 alternates - 30-Goble and 65-Wright (both on the rise)
Out this round - 11-Collins, 16-Guthrie, 33-Zarba, 36-Jones, 38-Smith, 40-Wood, 42-Lewis and 47-Adams.
Down a round vs. last year - 33-Zarba and 38-Smith.
Up a round - I believe this is the first time at this level for Rodney Mott (71).
Crew Chiefs - 5 working this round - the two Crawfords, McCutchen, Mauer and Foster. (Callahan moved to 2nd official in the second round, Willard and Stafford in this round). Another sign of a pecking order - McCutchen has worked as a 2nd official under Joey Crawford, Mauer has worked as a 2nd official under both Danny Crawford and Foster.

Hey TJ, do you happen to know who the alternates were in Games 1 and 5 of the Western Conference Finals. I am keeping records of all the Officiating assignments but seemed to have missed those two. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, russ. I only keep an accumulated update of who's in and who's out - I don't keep a record of each game's assignment.

He was the Crew Chief in Game 2 of the Bos-Mia series and Game 4 of the SA-OKC series.

My projections of the 12 to go to the Finals: 1. Joe Crawford-Crew Chief 2. Dan Crawford-Crew Chief 3. Scott Foster-Crew Chief 4. Monty McCutcheon-Crew Chief 5. Ken Mauer 6. Derrick Stafford 7. Mike Callahan 8. Greg Willard 9. Bill Kennedy 10. Ed Malloy 11. Marc Davis 12. Bill Spooner- 1st timer replacing Steve Javie-retired
If any changes, James Capers for Marc Davis

There's a chance we won't see Willard in the finals this year. According to Mike Breen, he was hospitalized with an illness last week.

I agree with impz45's first 10. I'll go with Tom Washington and Ron Garretson as #11 and #12. If Willard is out, I'll take Davis as next in line.

I'll go J.Crawford, D.Crawford, Foster, McCutchen, Callahan, Stafford, Mauer, Willard (hopefully), Malloy, Kennedy, Washington, Capers
ALTS- Phillips and Spooner (again)
Marc Davis was god awful everytime I saw him this year so he is getting a huge demotion from me. The same thing happened to Tom Washington a few years ago. My reason for picking Capers and Washington is the fact that they worked 2 Conference Finals games while Davis, Spooner and Phillips only worked one. If Willard is unable to go, I slide Spooner onto the court and have Davis be the second alternate. Garretson, Brothers and Mott will not make the cut from last round no matter what. Garretson's skills have slipped in the last few years and Brothers and Mott were only part time regular season crew chiefs despite all three working two Confference Championship round games.

Read an article yesterday where Javie has joined ESPN to do what Pereira does for Fox, although just for the NBA Finals it appears. I retweeted it, ( hokie_Byrd) if you are interested in reading.
