Best wishes wishes to all the olympic officials, timekeepers, judges who help make the olympics a success.
For most of them it is the shining moment in their careers.
I know the USA has officials and judges is most of the sports like football, basketball, volleyball, judo, track & field, swimming, weightlifting, and boxing
Also, congrats to NBA referee Bill Kennedy for officiating in these London 2012 games
Best Wishes to all of you...

John Goble is as well. Also, Scott Bolnick, Steve Anderson and Matt Myers are D-League Officials who each got called up to work about 9 NBA games this past season. Anthony Jordan is one of the main officials in the SEC.

Quick question. The officials working are not NBA scabs right? The NBA doesnt want their officials working overseas or FIBA doesnt want the NBA guys? Just curious

Any official can be FIBA carded. You have to pass FIBA qualifications, not the least of which is the FIBA interpretations and approach to the game.
I belong to a discussion group where basketball officials from the USA think less of international basketball because the officiating in the Olympics is not that they're used to. Those are the officials that FIBA doesn't want, and won't consider.
In Canada, our national group grants nominations to the FIBA tryout according to their standards. I imagine that if an official from the USA is able to learn and apply FIBA rules and interpretations, then they could become a FIBA official. That they also work the NBA doesn't matter, as the evidence says.
FIBA is different than all codes in the USA. The simple fact is that not everyone can adapt outside of the philosophies found in the USA. Keep in mind, that for the most part, that the rest of the world uses FIBA. The USA is the only country that uses their own rules.
