He was one tough official. What's interesting is that he an Jack Fette both worked five Super Bowls and both of their careers mostly over-lapped. Tough to be a LJ in the 70s and 80s with those two trading off Super Bowls.

I believe that for the seasons 1979-1981, Bob Beeks was LJ16.

I believe that for the seasons 1979-1981, Bob Beeks was LJ16. He was. Beeks wore #59 for the rest of his career. Sad to hear of his passing.

Only two five-time Super Bowl officials are still living - Al Jury and Ron Botchan.
