In my opinion, it is disgustingly inappropriate for a school administrator to come from the press box to the sideline to confront a game official in response to an on-the-field call. Pat Haden should know better, and he should also be severely punished by USC for doing so. He should also forfeit his position on the playoff committee. I've had AD's, Principals and even one Superintendent arrive on my sideline during a game. I politely asked them to leave, or I would be forfeiting the contest in favor of their opponents. They all left. Now, I haven't been asked back to any of their schools, but that's fine too. I decline more games each season than I accept -- that tells me my services are appreciated elsewhere. Story here.

I'm surprised that the officials gave Hayden the time of day. Mr. Hayden, I have a game to run, I'm going to go hack the ball in.

I'm with 'ya md. Totally uncalled for and he should have been penalized. How would the NFL react to an owner or GM coming to the field to argue a call? My guess is there would be a hefty fine and/or suspension involved.

In NFHS Sarkisian (or however the heck you spell it, I don't really care) would have been long gone in my game.
