Two high school players blindside the umpire in an act that can only be described as deliberate ... allegedly. The players were ejected and probably face additional sanctions, if the school doesn't take up matters first. I'm thinking at least suspend them for the rest of the season. There's a strong possibility of criminal charges since this went beyond the usual risk assumed on the field. Gutless, plain and simple. Hopefully this wasn't in any way called by the coaching staff. |

That's a classless and inexcusable act. Both players should be kicked off of the team and face some sort of charges, regardless of whether or not the official was injured. I see stories like this and while I miss officiating high school football to an extent, I'm glad that I don't have to deal with stuff like this. I keep in touch with a lot of the guys I used to work with and their numbers are dwindling because of crap like this.

I can tell you several sources have told me if they don't take serious action that the high school chapter that covers that hs won't work anymore of their games. The game was outside of Austin and used Austin officials which is why Wayne elliott was in the story. Yes the same Wayne elliott packers fans don't like. They did suspend the two thugs from the team and the school but the only question left is if the coach knew about it or not.

If the coach knew about it and did nothing to stop it, he should be banned for life.
