Again the challenge for this week. For every call you think is terrible post about another call you think the officials got right.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your turkey sandwiches!

Again why did the league keep the same swing official on one crew while a regular was injured yet they rotate officials for another injured official.

Pete Morelli's crew is having another rough start to the game. They lost track of the down and had to go to the replay official upstairs for confirmation. They said it was 2nd down when it was 3rd down, thank goodness for the replay official upstairs to correct the crew.

Boger rules a bat sideways and that there was no foul. Anyone able to clarify if a sideways bat is legal?

One question - 124 Carl Paganelli - GB-MIN - that game was last week.

Steelers at Seahawks ( video) The Steelers line up in field goal formation and then shift into an offensive formation. This causes side judge Laird Hayes to beat a hasty retreat. He properly lines up as the second umpire in field goal formation then has to get back to his deep wing position when the Steelers shifted out of field goal formation. On another note, I don’t think the Steelers will try this play again…..

Back to back interesting calls/non-calls in Seattle. The first one looked like Laird Hayes missed either an illegal contact or defensive holding against Richard Sherman on his interception, Depends on where the QB and ball were. Then Lawerence Timmons is called for a UNR late hit OOB and I am not sure that was a great call either as the hit originated in bounds. The play was right in front of Steve Stelljes and he let it go but Walt Anderson threw the flag. I think Stelljes had it right.

Steelers at Seahawks ( video) Referee Walt Anderson overrules line judge Byron Boston on this fumble play. He properly determines that the loose ball was out of bounds before the Steelers’ recovery.

Walt Anderson overturns a Steelers catch because the receiver make a little bobble prior to the second foot coming down inbounds. It was impossible to tell in real time.

A few weeks ago, Russell Wilson was being sacked and threw the ball away. The ball landed 4 yards short of the line of scrimmage but Clete Blakeman ruled that since Wilson got the ball "near" the line of scrimmage, there was no foul for intentional grounding. Today, similar play, Wilson's throw lands a half-yard short of the line of scrimmage. Walt Anderson calls intentional grounding, ruling that Wilson did not get the ball "past" the line of scrimmage. This is the definition of inconsistency.
