Is JB DeRosa related to Joe DeRosa? Son perhaps?

Jonathan Sterling was also hired despite having never worked an NBA regular season game. I'm surprised they hired him over Vladimir Voyard-Todal or Phenizee Ransom both of whom worked games last season. Steve Anderson is the only Official I can find from last year that is not listed on this years roster, besides Danny Crawford but we already knew he retired. Anderson was only in the league for 5 seasons and he is also a FIBA certified referee having worked the Olympics in 2016. I am thinking Anderson either went back to working College or possibly overseas since he is FIBA certified.
Number Changes: Jason Goldenberg- 65 to 35 (Anderson's old number) Jonathan Sterling- 75 to 17 (Joe Crawford's old number) CJ Washington- 53 to 12 (Violet Palmer's old number)

Interesting sidebar from the recently published NBA Officials Press Guide. First-year referee Jonathan Sterling and Lauren Holtkamp got married to each other last summer. Undoubtedly the first-ever husband-wife in professional officiating!

The closest we have come to that is NCAA Basketball Referee Michael Stephens is married to D-League(Now G-League) Referee Fatou Cissoko. Same sport but different levels.

Undoubtedly the first-ever husband-wife in professional officiating! Would the league allow them to work a game together or would nepotism laws prevent that?

I'm presuming Jason Phillips is still rehabbing. He's the only full-timer to not appear in a game yet.

I guess I've always viewed nepotism "laws" to be that relatives should not be hired because of a "family" advantage. I'm not sure that would have anything to do with having them work together doing their jobs in a game. I guess we'll soon see. I think it's certainly possible that they may also suggest to the league that they prefer NOT to work together so that they can singularly focus on their jobs. So either way, I'm not sure we'll be able to draw any conclusions if they don't work together - or it'll just be written off as a novelty if they do. There are certainly plenty of officials on the roster to get around that scheduling.
In a similar fashion, I wonder if the Goble brothers (John and Jacyn who was hired last year) have ever done a game together?

To update my suspicions from earlier, Steve Anderson is indeed working College Basketball this season.
