Please let's get away from all the R85 jabber, there's more guys out there, we don't have to have a steady diet of that topic run into the turf.....look how much fun MNF was out of doors, it got to be a real adventure when the freezing precip started falling...football the way it should be played. Do away with domes....the High Schools and many colleges don't play in domes, let the big boys earn their keep out doors. JAYJAY, I agree, I was thinking how the Vikings went to four Super Bowls in eight years while playing outside, but zero since the went inside. That MNF game did bring about a bit of discussion as to whether the next stadium should be outdoors for the Vikings and a return to the glory days. Metrodome is beyond it's useful life and needs to be replaced ASAP.

i heard on espn today that it likely will not, as an open air stadium is no good for ncaab final fours and other various events that take place indoors (dallas, indy and stl all have been able to use stadium for other events, than just 8 games per year)

Metrodome is beyond it's useful life and needs to be replaced ASAP. I went to the Metrodome for a few baseball games a couple of years ago, and I have to agree. Compared to other modern sporting venues, the Metrodome is a dump, and doesn't have very many modern amenities.

In Indy, the "Hoosier Dome," later named the "RCA Dome," which was patterned and built AFTER the Metrodome, has already been torn down. That should say something.

I noticed Al Michaels went on a bit too much about the "tuck rule". I don't remember "intent" being any part of the tuck rule at that time in relation to the QB's intention to pull the ball down? Please, don't bring up the tuck rule. That dead horse has been beaten over and over again on this site. 57...I've been viewing and posting for as long as you have. I haven't seen the subject discussed much, if at all. Do we know for sure where the situation with Coleman not doing Oakland games lies? Has the NFL stated that Coleman won't do Oakland games? Could it be Oakland or Coleman that doesn't want the game?

We had that pit called the Pontiac Silver Dome....same Genre as the MetroDome and the RCA Dome.....Ford Field the new dome in Detroit is better, they also have a totally different structural system supporting the roof. Nice and open and airy, a much better place to watch a game if you have to be inside.

Could it be Oakland or Coleman that doesn't want the game? halfway through his career, in, oddly enough, an Oak vs NE game, Dreith called a RTP against NE that allowed Oakland to sustain their drive, and go on to win. He never was assigned to another NE game in his career again (14 more years) i know this doesnt answer your question, but it does give insight, that Coleman may never again officiate Oakland games
