3.7 today for Corrente's crew with Ed Hochuli substituting. Lewis, LJ130, had one catch-no catch call that was a "what are you looking at" moment, but it was easily overturned by replay. Several bang-bang calls the crew got right. Good game by the crew. Ed Hochuli should get either a Conference Championship Game or the Super Bowl!

Watching Chad Brown in Denver. He is lining up like the referees lined up in the backfield around 20 years ago. Interesting to see!

Becky, it is going to be difficult with strong years from Walt Anderson, Clete Blakeman, Scott Green, Bill Leavy, and Pete Morelli

Woah! Tebow escapes a safety while Carey slips and falls when he had to quicky reverse his field. Looked like he was sliding into second base. Popped right back up.

Jeff Triplette and crew had a solid day in Houston. Probably the most interesting play was when Cam Newton threw a pass that bounced off the back of his OL Jordan Gross and was caught by Brandon LaFell. Triplette announced no illegal touching since Newton didn't intentionally throw the ball to Gross.

Starting with the most recent post: 1) I've seen illegal touching called many, many times where the lineman who illegally touched the ball was oblivious and not facing the QB. Since when does intention come into play? I disagree with the call. 2) The call in KC where the ball carrier lost control as he tried to score should have been challenged. Bigtime oversight by GB. 3)Hochuli has had a good year. He's had some rough times in recent years but he has stepped up on the field and in support of Corrente. 4) Didn't get to see much in early games since the NFL in its brilliance, had the West Coast watching Tenn/Indy at Hell's SportsBar. 5) I did not like seeing Bill Leavy congratulating Matthew Stafford or Matthew Stafford shaking hands with Bill Leavy after the Detroit/Oakland game. Some might call it sportsmanship but I disagree. An official is independent and is completely separate from players. Arbiters and Judges alike should maintain their separate position. It is disconcerting to see this. Get off the field, go to your locker and be done. When the first thing a player does is walk up to the head official after the game to what? Thank him? I don't like it. I've never seen a defendant or a prosecutor walk up to a judge or vice versa, after trial to express thanks, congratulations or commendation on a job well done. This action sends a mixed message to players and fans.

Brady shook hands with Carey after the final kneel down today. No back slapping, just a "good game" handshake. I don't mind it. It would be more of an issue if the official refused a handshake offered to him - would look like a snub.
Now if an official went LOOKING to shake hands, back slap, etc., I would have an issue with it.
