I think Anderson's crew punched their playoff tickets with that solid performance to end the season. I cannot say the same about Corrente or Coleman's crews however. All three of those crews missed multiple calls in big situations during those games.
In Grren Bay: early in the game the Packers were returning a kick and the player caught the ball at the half yard line and dropped. Once he picked it back up he was in the endzone and took a knee. This was called a touchback. This is obviously not a correct call as it should be a safety. This play was reviewed and overturned so the members of the crew will not be marked down but this is a call that should be correct the first time. IMO, it was a pretty obvious call and Coleman was literally atanding right there. I am also surprised neither Camp or Spanier who were working the sidelines and were close to the endzone missed it. Lucky for replay it was correct in the end.
The second Play from this game was a TD by Titus Young that was called incomplete. It was clear Young had both feet down in bounds with possesion. This call was not reviewable since the Lions had no challenges left and it was not a scoring play. Rick Patterson was on the call and he did not appear to have a great angle on the play.
In Cincy: It is very nice to see Tony Corrente back on the field. Unfortunately his crew had a very rough day. A bad OPI call against Jermaine Gresham, flag thrown by Allen Baynes. Gresham did not appear to be gaining any advantage over the deffender. An obvious PI that should have been called against Ladarius webb on the second to lat play of the game was not called by Gary Cavaletto. The foul occured in the endzone so it would have put Cincinnati at the 1 yard line fo Baltimore with time to possibly tie the game and send it into overtime. I also remember Greg Wilson missing a call or two but cannot remember specifics.
I enjoy watching Corrente and his crew a lot and have nothing against them, but I really do not think they are anywhere close to being a top 8 crew this season. Same goes with Coleman.
