Steven Jackson just scored a TD, but the refs said no, and in anger, he spiked the ball, drawing teh 15 USC penalty. Question: IF Fisher had challenged, and the TD was awarded, would the penalty happen on the XP, Kickoff?

Bad two-fer for the crew in Seattle. They missed an illegal blindside block when Seahawks WR Golden Tate threw a blindside block on the head area of Cowboys LB Shawn Lee. There was a flag however, for an late hit on the Cowboys for a tiny shove on Russell Wilson right as he was about to step out of bounds.

One of the things I've disliked about the NFL is how they sometimes let players take chippy shots after the whistle, especially on returns. I definitely saw more of that today but I also saw something in the Raider game that I don't think I've seen. Raider receiver dove to catch a low pass and get his hands under it. It was ruled a catch for a gain of 6 then was challenged and reversed. When the play was initially called a reception, a Dolphins player (Dansby?) ran up to official getting ready to mark ball and roughly grabbed it from him and took off with it. I was amazed there was no flag.

Not sure what the chronology is here, but a 15-yard penalty after a touchdown goes to the kickoff always. Never the XP.

Today's been hard on MP. His tweet:
@mikepereira: I'm officially over it. Regular refs need to get back. Enough is enough.

Question: IF Fisher had challenged, and the TD was awarded, would the penalty happen on the XP, Kickoff? I saw video clip of the play. If the spike was at a player/official, then UNS. Otherwise, its a delay of game penalty. Can you shed any light on this, because the clip did not have enough to make a judgement?

Nothing more to say really...this is absolutely the worst week of officiating on any level.

Sometimes bonehead plays make for the easiest calls. Something tells me #15 for the Redskins will do some running this week: bit.ly/Pq8N8u
