hey everyone, i was just wondering who you all thought has been solid in your eyes and could potentially get the nod for the SB? Scott Green had it last year, so I'd presume he becomes ineligible, as only Jim Tunney has done back-to-back SB (11 and 12) Clete Blakeman is also ineligible I believe, since it's first year. Other than that, the other 15 are all fair game if I'm correct...unless, i feel like i heard of a 5 year rule as far as the SuperBowl goes...if that is so, then Cheffers, Parry and Riveron are still ineligible, and Steratore and Boger are both good to go this year. I personally would like to see Steratore, but he's been on the bad end of some correct, yet controversial calls this season (Calvin Johnson no-td catch and the Pitt-Miami Roethlsitberger debacle) I'd like to see John Parry if that 5 year rule is not true, I think he has a solid performance week in and week out, and always explains real well. Thoughts?

First of all, welcome, kbyrd; from your posts I take it you are a University student. Most of us are not in the university. At this point I would be looking at Corrente (99), Hannah (40), Payne (79), Bergman (32), Steenson (88), Steratore (112), Hill (97).

Hall, Camp, and Gautreaux have all impressed me this season. I also like the job of Jeff Lamberth but I wonder if his weight would be an issue as MP was known to not give certain heavyset officials a Super Bowl appearance even when they graded out as the highest at the position

Predictions using my head:
R- Corrente U-Fowler HL-Mello LJ-Marinucci FJ-Cavaletto SJ-Hill BJ-Helverson
Predictions using my heart:
R-Winter U-Hannah HL-Baltz LJ-Bergman FJ-Wrolstad SJ-Carlson BJ-Reels
This year is a wild card with a new supervisor. The Carl Johnson's subjective evaluation counts for 10% of the grades that determine the playoffs. If the ratings are so close as many claim, the supervisor basically can pick whomever he wants.

i've always thought corrente was real solid. my list is basically fred and zach's combined. i've got: Hannah at Umpire Mello or mcKinnley at HL Marinucci at LJ and Steenson at FJ I was stuck on a sidejudge, and my BJ was steratore or carey.
i tihnk it'd be real interesting to see a crew of referees work the superbowl. you figure with: Riveron, Parry, McAulay, Cheffers, Carey, Blakeman SJ Steratore, Morelli FJ Triplette, Leavy, Hochuli, Corrente, Green BJ Winter, Coleman, Boger, Anderson LJ
obviously it wouldn't happen, but it'd be interesting. just make on of the LJ an HL and then one of the others the Umpire. My All-Referee Crew would be: Corrente R Steratore FJ Carey SJ BJ Leavy LJ Boger HL Anderson U Hochuli
Alt Ref - Parry

Based on assignments so far this season I say Winter (R 14) or Steratore (R 114)

You're right, Tunney is the only guy to do back-to-back Super Bowls. FJ Tom Sifferman...now Hochuli's RO...worked back-to-back-to-back Super Bowls.

I think Steratore will be in the SB very soon.

I think Steratore will be in the SB very soon. He was an alternate last year in only his 4th season as a referee, so he's probably pretty dang close.

My guess is that Steratore will get a CC this year (did he ever get one as a FJ?) and then a Super Bowl in the next 1-3 seasons.
If he did a CC as a FJ, he could be in the running.....
