GREAT unsportsmanlike conduct call on DeSean Jackson's touchdown. Cris Colinsworth is saying that there shouldn't have been a flag, but it was more than warranted in that situation. This guy is a clown. If this were a HS game, I might have ruled flagrant unsportsmanlike and tossed him. That is uncalled for and unprofessional. Do you call high school kids names too?

Almost everyone who watches the NFL would agree that DeSean Jackson is a clown because of the way he acts. And no, I don't call high school kids names. Acts like that are uncalled for, and when a player acts like that, they look like a clown.

Eagles return man #38 can thank his lucky stars he wasn't asked to watch Al & Cris's commentary from the locker room after throwing what looked like a double-fisted punch at the back of Allen Ball's head after he tried to dance around in the end zone before taking a touchback.

2nd Q 11m, bigt late hit on Vick, but as usual, it's Vick so no one cares. mcAulay and his crew are not very good right now. Vick was out of pocket and a runner.. so good NO Call... Vick was still in bounds... I liked the no-call on the sideline hit on Vick. The contact was initiated in-bounds. The calls I had an issue with was a missed hold where there was a takedown by the helmet and then the RTP on Vick, which I didn't feel was a foul.

Al and Chris were right on here I thought. I would have stepped in to tell the guys "enough" and let things go until Philadelphia #38 threw the double arm shove to the Dallas player's helmet.

McAulay's crew almost let the game get away early in the game but helped the players get settled down and play football. They missed a few but nothing egregious. I give them a "B."

Chris Collinsworth and Al Michaels were way off base on the USC penalty. DeSean Jackson most certainly deserved a flag for what he did. (and if I were the coach, he'd sit for a game and pay a hefty fine-as the video montage showed, he clearly hasn't learned his lesson). And if you want to get super-technical, you could easily argue that Jackson began that unsportsmanlike conduct before he crossed the goal line, so in theory, couldn't the penalty be enforced from the line of scrimmage, erasing the TD? (OK, maybe I'm just being mean about that, but that type of showboating really irritates me) Jets are confirming it was Sal Alosi, the strength and conditioning who tripped Nolan Carroll. I'm assuming it happened to fast for any of the officials to see it, but it certainly warranted a flag and ejection (although the NFL has no provisions for ejecting coaches, if I were Winter, I would have done it anyway). But I think the NFL is going to come down very hard on the Jets for this-and they should. I don't know if stripping them of all of their yards/points from this game, or a 100% fine for the entire team-players, coaches and all, is the right thing to do, but the NFL had better do something and make it big and painful. As for the offending coach, I think that Sal Alosi needs to be let go. If Carroll had been the ball-carrier, then it's entirely possible that Miami could have been awarded a touchdown. Even though he wasn't the ball carrier, and was already out of bounds, Alosi's willingness to do something that could cause injury, either to Carroll or someone he may have run into on the sideline is completely unacceptable.

Mike Pereira's take on it:1. Miami at New York Jets THE SITUATION: Miami had the ball, fourth down at its 14-yard line with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. Miami led 10-3. THE PLAY: The Dolphins punted the ball and during the action, someone on the Jets sideline intentionally tripped Miami's Nolan Carroll, who was injured on the play. MY TAKE: The league will not look kindly on this, especially since it caused an injury. If you are fining players big amounts for football acts, they should equally fine this person an equal amount or more. There is no place for this type of behavior in our game. The Jets are a classier organization than this, but the league needs to hold them responsible for an incredibly stupid act committed by someone they allowed in their team area on the sideline.

Sal better get ready to write a big check and be prepared to spend game day in the press box, locker room or at home. No, Sal needs to answer the question our HR guy at work posed to someone once: "How long have you been with the company, not including tomorrow?"

Nothing will happen to him. I'm sure Rex Ryan was only pissed that he didn't trip anyone on the Dolphins TD drive.

Mike Carey and crew earned their money yesterday: bit.ly/hwWKETOnly his eyes were exposed until he had to make an announcement, then he pulled his ski mask down to announce the fouls.

The Jets need to do the right thing and severely punish this guy at the least, terminate his services is a better option. bit.ly/fyIBOLThe Jets' media director is a guy by the last name of Speight. There was a NFL official named Leslie Speight who lasted a few seasons in the late 90s/early 00s. I wonder if there is a family relation.
