And as I said before, NY wont do anything. Rex Ryan is a win at all costs kind of guy. Jets' Sal Alosi suspended for trip bit.ly/h7K7rf Suspended without pay and a $25k fine seems to be getting off light to me, but what do I know?

I think he should get permanently removed from pro football...needless to say terminated from the Jets staff.

This is a sad development in the NFL; yesterday's action by Alosi reminds me of a kid in a lunch line who bullies another kid to get the respect of his peers.
The suspension/fine is from the Jets organization, for whatever reason the league does not figure to act on this action. It seems as if the league is becoming "a bark, not bite" institution.

I think that when the Baseball Hall of Fame builds a statue of Bud Selig, they should make sure it is looking the other way.
That begs the question, what should the NFL HOF statue of Roger Godell look like? Maybe we'll have to see what happens next season with the contract.
At any rate, I don't think the NFL should make the Jets fire the coach, as the Jets should keep some autonomy, but I think the NFL should fine the coach (that did it) and then hit the Jets with a massive fine if they don't fire him.
And by the way, it wasn't a "mistake," as he says it was. Saying "2+2=5" is a mistake.
I don't get why the Jets won't fire him, but this can't be let go. This is too big. Some might say that since the runner was already out of bounds anyway, what's the difference, but if you let this go, how long will it be before someone comes off the sideline or bench to tackle someone?

Melka,
If they built a statue for Bud Selig, he would be in a different position with a lot of lipstick...
Selig has ruined baseball, Goodell has not ruined football. At least not yet

They've suspended him for the rest of the season and added an additional $25,000. That's a very severe penalty. They haven't said they're going to rehire him at the end of the suspension so I don't think anybody can say he got off scott free. Does anybody here think he deserves the death penalty (at least in New York, we're enlightened and have joined the 21st century and don't have a death penalty anyway)?
BTW without trying to justify what happened (which of course is unjustifiable), what was the Miami player doing running out of bounds the distance he did (don't you on such a play have to make every effort to get back in bounds? Isn't that unsportsmanlike conduct?)
It's done. He's suspended for the season. Chances are he won't be back. Time to let it rest IMHO.
